On Saturday 27th April, Breda will turn orange again. There will be plenty to see and do in and around Breda during King's Day 2024. From festivals to flea markets, you can read all about it here!

Ceremonial Kickoff King's Day

During the Extraordinary Flag Parade at the Royal Military Academy, the commander of the NLDA will take the roll call of the cadets in the presence of the Mayor of Breda. This will be done according to the military ceremonial protocol. Do you want to attend? Then come to the KMA between 09:00 and 09:45 with a valid ID! The ceremony starts at 09:55 sharp. 

Programme in the city centre

On King's Day, it's always a great idea to take a walk through the city centre of Breda. Below you will find a selection of events taking place in the city centre:

11:00 - 17:00 Kids' Flea Market - Stadpark Valkenberg
11:00 - 17:00: Hobby Market and Model Building - Kasteelplein
11:00 - 17:00  Music Square - Kasteelplein

In addition, you will find plenty of festive atmosphere at the Grote Markt, Havermarkt, Veemarktplein and in all surrounding hospitality venues!

King's Day means reason to party, and there are plenty organised in Breda! Which party will you go to?

538 King's Day
For several years in a row the event that the whole Netherlands goes to: 538 King's Day! Just like every year, the biggest national and international artists come to Chasséveld.

Orange Sweet
Radio 538, Valkenberg Park, festivities in the city centre. Breda has it all, but was missing something for the target group that loves a cool house & rave party at a sick location close to the city on King’s Day. Orange Sweet is the answer to that!

Free Your Mind
On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 April, Breda International Airport will be transformed into a cool techno party at a very special location! Go wild at Free Your Mind!

Happy Feelings
Already feeling like having a good time the night before King's Day? Then you're in the right place at Happy Feelings at STRND on Slingerweg 76!

King's Day at The Streetfood Club
Step into the kingdom of taste, rhythm and royalty! On 27 April, the terrace of The Streetfood Club Breda will be transformed into a royal party garden with the best cocktails and street food snacks. Check out the event here.

King's Night & King's Day at De Avenue
Celebrate King's Night and King's Day in headbanging style at De Avenue! On 26 April, a wave of punk rock lovers will flood Waterstraat in Breda, ready to embrace the spirit of rebellion and enjoy energetic sounds. On King's Day itself, this spot welcomes the kings of metal: Changing Tides, Infernum and Teneum! Read more here.

You can also celebrate King's Day in Breda outside of the city centre.

Not only in the city centre will you find markets and festivities, there is also plenty to do in the surrounding villages and atmospheric areas!

Havenkwartier
There is plenty to experience this weekend in the Havenkwartier as well. Electron, Phoenix, STEK and Belcrum Beach join forces for a creative flea market. In addition to the creative market, you can also enjoy music, a drink, and a bite to eat. And Pier15 will also be throwing a party during King's Night and King's Day

Princenhage
Every year on 27 April, Stichting Evenementen Princenhage  celebrates the King's birthday together with all children and parents. The Oranjecomité is ready with fun games on the village meadow, and in the afternoon there are pancakes and ice creams with a closing drink and music at Haagsemarkt. 

Ulvenhout 
In Ulvenhout, various activities are organised during King's Day. There is a mini flea market, a decorated bicycle parade, and the Children's Games are organised. There is also an Orange Raffle and a Jeu de Boules tournament. Curious? Check out the programme here. 

Prinsenbeek
In Prinsenbeek, the annual children's flea market is held on the Market on King's Day. In the afternoon, children can participate in activities such as face painting, smoothie cycling, and a kids corner with fun games. Bavel
On King's Day in Bavel, the celebration starts with the kick-off of the Oranjecomité in the cultural centre 't Klooster, followed by the flea market. Then the flag is hoisted, there is a decorated bicycle tour, and kids can participate in the Orange Games. There is musical entertainment all day long, and later in the evening, a free music festival is organised at Jack van Gilsplein. Read more here.
