House of Brecht
The House of Brecht is located in Cingelstraat, a street where many prestigious buildings stood in the sixteenth century. High officials lived there, and guests from the Court often stayed there.
One of the main, and also one of the oldest, manor houses in Breda, is the House of Brecht (c. 1490), located on the right side of Cingelstraat. It is probably one of the few noble stone buildings that survived the great city fire of 1534. Nowadays, it serves as the library of the Royal Military Academy.
